BX 4 TC. Citroëns Group B entry. Didn’t do too well and Citroën figured it’d be cheaper to buy them back and scrap them then to stock replacement parts. Accordingly, very few are still around.

Citroen have form for that. The Birotor from the 1970s didn’t sell because Wankel engine, apex seals and oil crisis so they tried to buy them all back and crush them.

A few escaped.

I did some digging. That Heuliez window sticker kept bugging me. Why would a weirdly colored pristine BX have a bright green window sticker?

It seems that the car belonged to Heuliez own collection. They built these and kept one. It was sold in 2012 (one year before Heuliez ceased operating) for a meager sum of €32k.

I remember seeing other weird BXs (prototype break models) for sale years ago that were likely from the same Heuliez collection.

Yeah, it was quite cheap. The odometer was showing 1036 km and it hadn’t even been registered. Se the poor BX is destined never to see much driving.
